Review - Hotel De La Tour Eiffel

We stayed in this property from Sept. 2-4, 2006. We booked a standard triple bedroom for Euro 109/night inclusive of taxes without breakfast.
What I like:
The friendly staff who were willing to converse in English to provide us tips on how to go around the city on foot and by metro.
Its location is superb! You traverse certain streets and next thing you know it, you're standing at the foot of Eiffel Tower or walk further down you'll see Trocadero and if you walk either to the side of Eiffel, you'll see Ecole Militaire.
There are plenty of groceries and restaurants nearby so you can buy your necessities or have a bite of the Parisian gourmet.
What I don't like:

For a triple bedroom, I expected to see at least 3 single beds or 1 double and 1 single. We were provided 1 queen-sized bed and a folding bed for the 3rd person. My daughter took the folding bed since she was still small then and the bed could carry her weight.
The room is small for the 3 of us. There was barely a space left to place our 2 big luggages. There was a small cabinet near the door so we took advantage of the space inside and placed one luggage in an upright position just so we could move around the room.
With a small room comes a small a bathroom.

The stair is a bit small and dimly lit.

My recommendation:
Aside from the little nuisances, we were still satisfied with our stay there for the fact that it was in a quiet area but near major attractions.
I recommend this to couples but not to families with kids or teens unless you are booking another room in the property. Otherwise, you may consider another bigger hotel. However, you get what you paid for and I think it's a reasonable amount for a 2-star property in the heart of the City of Lights.
Unfortunately, I didn't have any pictures of the hotel nor the room we got. The photos in this review are taken from Tripadvisor and credit goes to the photos' owners.

i love the idea of being able to explore the major attractions by foot or metro. thanks for the review sis, might come in handy when the hubby strikes a lottery. lol.
i like the ambiance of the Hotel, it's so cool in the eyes, just the way i like it.. i wish i could go and try that place :)
Oh I remember my trip in Paris. Though we also have a good location, the room is not big enough. Literally no space for luggage.
Regarding the room you had during your stay, I think that is only good for couple or single occupancy.
Location is one of the reason we consider in choosing our hotel during our vacation. Aside from that the reviews of the traveler is one of the impact why we want to stay in a certain hotel. Thanks for the review though I never been there.
Looks really cozy! Wish I could visit Paris someday hehehe.
It looks coZy but yes, comfort must be a priority after a long tiring day of touring around the place. Two thumbs up for a good review, Sis.
this is very easy, at least through your reviews gives us so many things to check whenever we encounter to be in a specific places
Oh I wouldn't mind staying in a tiny room if I could just step in Paris! Right smack Eiffel tower, at that! :)
nice and cozy place! thanks for the review... :)
Oh well importantly all spots are reachable you don't have to pay bunches just to get to your destination and I guess the hotels that have 5 stars are very expensive. But yeah you are right this is best for packers or couples who have no kids.
Sounds a nice room to spend the night. also, since you mentioned the staff speak in English then I am comfortable with that. I know, only a few percent of France population speaks English.
Wow! That's cool. A hotel that is accessible to some major attractions in Paris. Too cool, indeed!
sounds like a good place to stay in Paris. i like the color of the bed, so sweet. =)
thanks for sharing your experience about that hotel. sad that its too small for your family, lucky everything fits in the end. but what great is the location is superb, if we go other places...location is one thing we always consider. hubby used to live in paris for months and we hope we can visit city of lights someday, its one of my dream places to see! :)
It is really a relief when you get to talk to hotel staff from a foreign country who can speak english, it makes life a bit easier and less exhausting...nice!
It's sad that they only provided a folding bed for the 3rd person,I would be disappointed too if that will be the case of stay. Yeah, you are right, the hotel is good for couples only.
Wow! Hotel in the heart of Paris! Wish I could get a chance to visit this wonderful establishment someday. It has always been my dream to go to Paris.
perfect for honeymooner i guess :P
..but its okey..as you've said the place is near the attraction..

Thanks for the comments everyone. I still recommend this quaint accommodation to singles or couples only. It's still a nice place to stay considering the location and the price.
