Timeshares in Vacation Resorts

We are a bunch of travel bugs. My family loves to hop on a flight, see different countries, enjoy the various cuisine, explore on famous places and immerse in rich art, history and culture of the places we visit.

We were once offered a timeshare during our visit in Las Vegas by one of the hotel chains we have stayed on. At that time, we didn't know much about timeshares or what it did and what benefits we could get out of it.

What I remember though, my husband did take 1 share but it was not for any fancy luxury resorts around Nevada. It was from the same hotel we stayed at but valid for a year. We did not get to use the share but we were able to transfer it to our friend and his fiancee when they visited Las Vegas.

Below is a sample infographic on time share which shows Mexico as a leading holder of timeshare resorts world-wide. I will not be surprised as Mexico is home to numerous beautiful, exotic, luxury and private resorts in the world.

What is a timeshare, you might ask? Timeshare is a term coined in Great Britain during the 1960s era. It is a term for a property with a certain form of ownership or usage rights and is normally used by condominium-like properties where multiple number of people owns a timeshare. The timeshare owners are allocated a certain period of time to allow other owners to use the property as well.

Top up your Tan in Tenerife

Although Tenerife is known for drinking and a general ‘Brits' abroad’ atmosphere, there is so much more to the island. From whale and dolphin cruises to year round golfing, there is something for everyone here!

Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands. It’s a popular tourist destination and it has two airports, Tenerife north and Tenerife south. There are many travel companies offering package holidays to Tenerife, but if that’s not your style have a look around for low cost flights to Tenerife with Monarch and perhaps think about renting an apartment or villa.

Playa de las Americas is one of the main destinations people choose to visit. With beautiful beaches, lively nightlife and plenty of great restaurants, it’s certainly a place for friends and families who want an action packed holiday with lots of hustle and bustle. The Safari Centre is full of designer labels for those who wish to have a classier shopping experience in this lovely beach town.

For a quieter holiday, why not try visiting Tenerife’s capital, Santa Cruz. Visit the Basilica de Nuestra Senora de Candelaria, a picturesque church in a beautiful old town, or wander the streets of this old fashioned city. There are many beautiful walking areas around the city as well – the Rambla del General Franco is a fantastic woodland walk which takes you through some beautiful scenery. Close by, Teide national park is one of the most spectacular areas of Tenerife and many is ranked among the top cultural attractions of the country.

Tenerife generally has nice weather all year round, with the lowest temperatures being about 22 degrees in the daytime in December and January. Take advantage of the quieter months of May and September, when school children are back in school but the tourist season is either beginning or ending so most attractions will be open for your visit. Chartering a boat for the day is cheaper in the quieter seasons and you may just decide to sail into the sunset after experiencing all the island has to offer.

Summer Go-To Places To Consider

The long summer months are upon us and the weather gauge says it all. It is hot, humid and the days are longer this time.

I you live in places where it gets so hot and humid like here in the Middle East, the only respite you can think of is to fly to cooler areas where there is very minimal heat wave or lack thereof.

Here are some suggestions of summer go-to places to consider if you want to escape the heat:

*  If your budget can afford it, go to Europe where the weather is better and cooler. Northern Europe will have a cooler climate around July-August where the peak of summer heat is observed in the Middle East.

*  You don't necessarily have to fly somewhere but you can drive to a nearby resort and spend the weekend there to get away from the hustle and bustle of the hot city life.

*  If you're budget is so tight then head to the nearest mall and just while away your time while satisfying your window-shopping fancy and enjoy the free airconditioning unit. However, enjoy viewing exhibit or art show in art galleries and museums to satisfy your artistic side and penchant for history and culture.

*  Go to your relatives in the province where the fresh breeze blows on your face and enjoy nature at its best. You can also try camping, fishing, swimming in the lake and join other activities in the community.

There are more places to consider all over but these are just few suggestions for you to consider this summer. Where is your go-to place this summer? Please share!
