Factors to Check On Planning What To Wear For Your Autumn Travel

Autumn is fast approaching. According to the Farmer's Almanac, Autumn for 2016 is on 22 September 2016. In countries with 4 seasons, the changing of season from summer to fall tends to be tricky in temperature and weather forecast.

If you're planning a nice autumn travel and is unsure of what to wear to keep yourself warm or pleasantly comfortable during the day, then consider the following tips when deciding on what to bring on your trip.

Check on the weather forecast of your destination

I usually check Accuweather.com for a monthly forecast and I also check the actual weather a year before to give myself an idea on what clothing to bring. An example of this is my recent trip to Budapest next Saturday. I have been checking the forecast week after week to see any difference on the weather. Few weeks ago, the weather indicated rainy to thunderstorm during my stay and last night when I checked again, the weather is around max of 26ºC and lowest of 12ºC. So it means, it is a bit comfortable for me during the peak of the day so I can carry a lighter cardigan that I can fold and keep in my bag if it gets too hot. I can also carry a thicker sweater for late afternoon to evening stroll.

Check forums

I usually check forums in Tripadvisor where I am a contributor. I ask locals about the weather few days before my trip so I can plan my outfit. I don't want to bring a thick jacket when it's not even that cold. You also have to bear in mind that each person will have different tolerance to coldness. I have a very high tolerance to cold weather; hence I enjoy winter time. So for me, a nice light sweater or cardigan and a warm shawl can do the trick to warm me up.

Contact your accommodation' concierge and ask for tips

I emailed the owner of the apartment where I will stay in Budapest this weekend to ask for tips on what to wear. I was given many tips so I can decide from there.

Trial test at home

This is perfect for those with air condition unit that has thermostat control you can manipulate. Test it by putting your a/c to the lowest temperature you can bear with just wearing light cardigan. If you still feel very cold then perhaps it is wise to pack on that puffy jacket then.

Research the web

The web is teeming with plenty of information and resources where you can check on what to wear during autumn. You will find tips on what to bring for your travel including types of jackets or sweaters you can bring so you can layer when needed.

Photos not mine

Autumn is the onset of the burgeoning winter. So the wind can be cold and biting so bring clothing that will help you stay warm and comfortable. Bring something you can layer around and remove when you feel a bit hot and sweaty.

Our Vacation in Seoul, South Korea Part 2

Our Seoul, South Korea trip will not be complete without a day visit to Everland Resort in Yongin, Gyeonggi-do Province of South Korea. It is similar to Disneyland Resort in Orlando as it is always compared to the latter due to the similarities in layout. It features a zoo and water resort as well.

We took the bus near the Lotte Department store that goes straight to Everland Resort. We got there around 10:00 a.m. It was not a very long ride. I think it was just around an hour if my memory serves me right.

As soon as the bus reached the terminal, we started taking pictures as the view was magnificent. There were plenty of unusual plants that I have seen for the first time. Such a lovely place and the pictures I am sharing here would show how beautiful the place was.

Enjoy viewing!

The ample parking lot of Everland Resort. This is where you will catch your ride back to the city as well.

This was taken near the bus terminal, few metres away from the main gate of Everland.

Notice the pretty "cabbage-like" plants behind me? They look so yummy! hahaha This is the area before you enter the park.

This is my favorite view of the park. This was taken near the big fountain and you could actually see the various colors of fall in the vista. This place is a must-visit place in Seoul.

We were standing just outside the "gate" where the parade would start. We didn't realize the parade would start any minute and we were lucky enough to be in front of the sideline.

Fall's Go-To Places

Fall is the next best season I like next to spring. The weather is not so cold and definitely not hot anymore to enjoy the great outdoors. Another reason why I love autumn is because of the beautiful foliage around that turns from green to yellow to amber to a deep crimson shade. And when you drive around the country, you will see all the rolling hills with a pretty vista of autumn colors.

I don't live in the US but I love seeing fall vista. So, I jotted the most go-to places in the US during autumn. It is a great way to enjoy nature, fall activities and the cool, crisp air of autumn. I am looking forward to visit Napa Valley and Vermont on our next autumn break.

Napa Valley

Autumn is also the harvest season of vineyards in Sonoma, California. Sign in for wine-tasting classes and join the grapes-stomping activities.

New York City

Central Park's foliage will be a colorful show of autumn colors. You need not drive too far to view the majestic colors of autumn. You can also watch Macy's Thanksgiving Parade, taste the yummy treats at the festivities of the Feast of St. Geranno in Little Italy.

Vermont

Vermont offers plenty of fall festivals to celebrate with families and friends. You can take a scenic tour around Manchester, Stowe, Burlington, Woodstock and Montpelier or visit maple producing farms or buy fresh produce at the farmer's market.

Autumn Getaway in NYC

Yes! It's autumn and my family and I will spend 5 days in lovely New York City again this coming 25-31 October. Too bad, we won't be there to experience Halloween but we can purchase some nice goodies to bring home.

I just love cool weather and where else to spend the short holiday break than in my favorite Big Apple! I'll see lovely fall foliage again. It's nice to walk around the park with the cool breeze blowing on your face and the crisp autumn leaves on your foot step.

Ah, fall! We can't wait to feel you again! And hello NYC!

New York - My Favorite Fall Destination

The slight drop in temperature and the cool breeze blowing to my face is a pleasant respite from the extreme summer months of the UAE. We normally don't go anywhere aside from the Philippines during summer because of our work and the request of relatives back home to visit them. So, our family annual trip' destination usually falls on the beautiful, cool weather of autumn.

We have spent autumn in Munich, Istanbul and New York. I would say, New York tops my autumn go to place. The weather can be chilly and balmy at night but I love the cold weather. Autumn in Europe is fine too but I just don't feel that certain autumn charm that New York has.

Here are the reasons why I love New York in autumn:

1. The trees in Central Park are bright and colorful with different hues of orange, red, yellow and brownish/burnt sienna tones of leaves.

2. The sky is clear and sunny and the air is crisp.

3. Nice time to have picnic at the park.

4. People watching while enjoying a hot cup of joe.

5. I don't get tired walking around in boots!

6. The city is bustling again because summer campers are back.

Don't you just love NY in autumn? I think I am biased. I just love the place no matter what season of the year.
